Dr. Jerome Antonino, Our Lady of Grace Soccer Association Director and Instructional Coach/Novice Coach


Dr. Jerry began playing soccer when he was a young child for Holy Child Jesus CYO soccer team, at the same time playing for Bisceglie Sportiva of the Italian American League.  Dr. Jerry also played soccer at Archbishop Molloy High School. Through his college years played Division III soccer at NYU.  While studying for his Doctoral Degree in Chiropractic, at the National College Of Chiropractic, he played for NCC in a semi-pro league in Chicago.  Dr Jerry was there at the inception of this program along with Fr. Orsete Dias and Mr. Ralph Palumbo.

 

 

Antonio Barone,  Trainer


Coach Antonio is currently the coach of our twelve year old team.  He has been coaching this team for the past 6 years.  Coach Antonio's motto is "Life is a game, soccer is serious".   He has been playing soccer since he was a small child in the hills of Italy, he played soccer on the adult team when he was 15 years old.  When he came to New York, he played several years for SS Cosimo & Damiano Soccer Club, a division 1 team in the Italian American league.  He has coached our kids for the past 6 years, they have won 6 Diocesans Championship, 7 Division Championships, and has many undefeated seasons! 

 

 

Peter Sardis, Coach Rookies Team


Coach Pete is currently the coach of our 11 year old team.  He has been coaching this team for the last four years and has coached several teams in our program over the last eight years.  Coach Pete assisted with the coaching of his son Robbie who played for Our Lady of Grace, Archbishop Molloy High School, earned a full scholarship for soccer to Fordham University and is now playing in the Gottschee Mens U23 League.  This last season Coach Pete brought his team to their Third Dioceason Championship victory! 

 

 

Ralph Albergo, Coach Pee Wee Team


Coach Ralph is currently the coach of our 9 year old team.  He has been coaching this team for the past three years.  Over the past eight years Coach Ralph has coached various age groups.  His two daughters, who both attended and graduated from Our Lady of Grace, played soccer with Our Lady of Grace.  His oldest daughter went on the play soccer at St. Francis Prep for three years.   Coach Ralph brought this team to there first Diocesan Championship and Division Championship. 

 

 

 Anthony Di Cocco, Coach Boys Midgets Team

Coach Anthony is currently the coach of our 8 year old team. He has been coaching this team for the past two years. Coach Anthony had successfully played 4 years at Cardozo H.S. in his hometown, Bayside NY.  He is an alumni of CYO Soccer, where he played and was coached by his father for 8 years at St. Roberts of Bellarmine. He now takes his knowledge and experience to develop his son and other young players on the soccer field and recently has become President of Woodhaven Soccer Club. Coach Anthony has 4 rules to help his players: Pray, have fun, hustle and always play as a team.

Coach Jon played for the Valley Stream Soccer Club from the age of three till seventeen, and was selected for an all club team four years in a row.  He also  played for Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School from the 7th grade until 9th grade and then Valley Stream Central High School from 10th- 12th grade.

 

 

Frank DeStefano, Coach Boys Mites Team

Coach Frank has been involved in playing and coaching sports his entire life.  He grew up playing soccer and baseball for local community and All Star teams in Brooklyn.  Once he got to high school, he began to focus on football and baseball and left soccer behind for a while.  After high school, Frank began coaching baseball, football and handball for South Shore High School in Brooklyn.  He has coached baseball and girls softball in the Howard Beach area for years, and is very happy to return to his soccer roots coaching his son and his friends for OLG Soccer
